The Smithsonian Collection of Newpaper Comics(4points)& Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland(2points)
I had a hard time getting into these comics. I have not seen many of these comics before I'm assuming that maybe some of my peers have heard of some but It could be that just because of the country I was born in these maybe were not popular. I understand that these are of great importance because it is the History of Comics in America. But since these are all amazing classics loved by so many there was a lot to learn about the short story structure or how they managed to pull the layouts and the color or tone what importance they gave to what elements there was a lot to inspect and to learn from.
One that was interesting was Little Nemo in the Slumberland the art was simply amazing and thus I was captivated to read it. Besides the racism and some other stuff I think overall since these were like the foundations they were more towards children and I assume this also because of the really pretty and alluring colors used in Little Nemo in the Slumberland. Reading this I think I learned a lot rather it be different themes the connecting arc even though they were little stories and the layout was nice. I could really tell that Winsor McCay was experimenting a lot but.. who does not like seeing pretty illustrations am I wrong? Also while I was searching for this image on google I have found out that Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland also is an animated film I did not know this and I am really intrigued to watch it now and to have a comparison.
